MAGICAL MONDAY - Ribbon & Bow

The special person to receive the random drawing prize for participating in last weeks challenge is: Gypsy

Please send me your address at magicintheair@att.net so I can get this out to you. CONGRATS and ENJOY!

Today I bring you "Eldon with Flower"! Isn't he just the cutest! Now, I have to tell you the story behind this cute little caterpillar and also why his debut is in September. Helen, one our Guest Designers, prior to knowing she would ever be a Guest Designer had a dream one night about my stamps and she approached me with a few ideas of what she had envisioned and so I took my sketch pad on vacation with me and messed around and I approached her with a Guest spot and as you can see she said yes and so I just knew that this image should debut in the same month. She had no idea I had drawn him up and so when I sent her the September images he was there for a little extra surprise for her. I have to say I just love him and you will be seeing more of this little fellow in future images.

With Eldon, I intentionally kept him free of stripes, dots and other patterns, mainly because I wanted crafters to be able to "dress" him up in different ways and be able to change his look if they wanted to. I did this with the images on my other blog. I had a lot of fun making "designer Eldons"!

So, snag Eldon, take the time to leave some luvins in a post for the designers and tell me what you think of Eldon. Also, see if you can carve out some time and play along with the challenge this week.

("Eldon with flower" is no longer available for free... I am in a process of getting a website up and going to make available to you not only these images, but many more originals by me in digital form and in the near future photopolymer as well... it's all in "the works"! In just hours a new free image will be released)

Curt brings us this weeks challenge which is to use the image I have provided "Eldon with Flower" and use some ribbon and add a bow! Yep, it's that simple and wonderful!! So, grab some time, the image and of course your ribbon and let the metamorphosis begin!

I was always one of those kids that loved to doodle. Through my school years my notebooks would be filled with oodles of doodles and to this day I still love to just doodle. This flower is kind of a doodle for me and I really love that this flower can be used so many different ways. The designers really rocked this image with elegant, contemporary, fun and colorful designs. This image "Deco Flower" really is quite versatile. So, make sure you snag it and come play along this week with the challenge, we loved to see just how you use it!

I would really love to see the numbers grow in the challenge links to make me believe that this blog is worth the upkeep and the great work that is required by all the designers as well. PLEASE leave me and the team a message if you snag a free image, tell us what you think, I really am looking for feedback as well! A special THANKS for all who have taken the time to actually participate in the past challenges and/or left me/us a message in past posts! Leaving some lovin's is really a great thing! :O)

This weeks challenge comes to us from Leigh Anne. She would like to see you heat or dry emboss something on your card. If you don't have the tools to heat or dry emboss, score some lines, a pattern or be creative with some type of scoring. You can use the tool that comes with rub-ons to score with if you have one of those or something that has a rounded head of some sort.

MAGICAL MONDAY - SKETCH

Wow, can it really be September already? Yikes! I hope you have enjoyed the first month's worth of free images! Not only I am excited to bring you September's images, I am excited to introduce you to the new Guest Designers for the month of September! They are Helen Croft and Deedee Anderson. Make sure you click on their names and check out their blogs. They both bring a lot of talent to the month of September and I feel very blessed to have them come play along this month.

The special person to receive the random drawing prize for participating in last weeks challenge is: Kim MC

Please send me your address at magicintheair@att.net so I can get this out to you. CONGRATS and ENJOY!

We are going to start this month off with "Nate & Av". These two feisty fellows are are as different as can be in physical size, but their admiration for each other is quite large. The name of this stamp is "Nate & Av - You're Special". Just in case you are wondering, Nate is the Lion and Av is the mouse! :O) If you also want to learn an interesting little fact about this image you can find it here.

This will be a fun image to play with and I can't wait to see what you are going to do with it... Well, I bet you already figured out per the post title and the sketch below what the challenge is....

Yes, that is right... Use the image "Nate & Av - You're Special" and use this sketch provided to us by Nilla . You can stretch it, rotate it, reverse it, etc as long as the original sketch can still be seen. You also do not necessarily have to use flowers or ribbon, be creative! Don't forget to come back and post here on Mr. Linky so we can all share in your creations as well!

MAGICAL MONDAY - Paper Piecing

Gosh, I can hardly believe this is the last week of the month for August. Next week we will start a whole new month and we will have 2 new Guest Designers! I truly want to thank Karen and Ulrica for being such great GD's for the month of August!! (((applause)))

The one to be squealing who will receive the random drawing prize for participating in last weeks challenge is: Sari

Please send me your address at magicintheair@att.net so I can get this out to you. CONGRATS and ENJOY!

This week’s free image is "Gigi on tube". Yes, if you visited my blog in the early stages you might recognize this week's image. If you weren't around in the beginning then "Surprise"! Yes, Gigi is one pampered pig and she is just chilling and letting life pass her by as she floats about, in style of course!

The challenge for this week is: Paper Piecing. If you don't have a clue about how to do this with a digital stamp I found this to be great you don't have to do it this way (I just googled this), but this might be a nice little piece of knowledge to have when working with digital stamps. Of course just the cutting and coloring is OK with me too!! So I say give it a try and join in the fun and share you creation with all of us! You know we are dying to see them!

Unfortunately Ulrica was unable to participate this week. She fell and hurt her hand/wrist and was unable to paper craft with Gigi. We certainly will miss her creation for this week! Hope you're healing Ulrica!

This first month I will be playing along here; then you can find my creations on my other blog Having An Art-A-Tack

I tried hard to place a sentiment on the outside of my card, but it just didn't fit on the way I wanted it to, so I just gave up and placed it inside. It says: "You're Sun Sational"

We would love to see your creations this week with this fun image... so snag Gigi and don't forget to come back and post your creation for us all to see!!
